Three hrs on a call to advocate for approval of denied request for Nulasta for my daughter who is battling metastatic cancer for three yrs. Nulasta is an ngoing part of treatment plan, but out of blue Cigna deny and today, July 4th when my daughter travels one hr post chemo, when she is weak, nauseaus and tired to get Nulasta she is informed of denial. I spent three hrs on phone trying to get approval, speaking to Tamara, Colleen, Samantha, Hya - no one could help so here I am facing more calls, emails, trips to hospitals tomorrow (while I work full time). Is is necessary to make this so difficult? Shame on Cigna By the way this round 70+ of chemo, three resections later, 23 drains, too many emergency trips to recall, bone marrow aspiration, --yes understandably my little warriors immune system is compromised. Shame on Cigna to add stress and unnecessary complication to an already complicated situation.
