DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology - DAVIET Jalandhar was founded in the year 2001 under the aegis of DAV college Managing committee. The institute is situated in the heart of city on a prime piece of land adjacent to DAV College, Jalandhar. It imparts training to students to make them capable, motivated engineers and scientists.
DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology - DAVIET Jalandhar, has set up a research foundation to promote R & D activities in order to enable the staff and students to shape up their innovative ideas. DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology has an administration block in addition to the library, classrooms and laboratories, encompasses 3 specialized computer labs, 12 e-classrooms each equipped with high resolution LCD projectors and sound systems, drawing halls, tutorials room and well furnished Departmental offices. Campus also has a Centrally Air Conditioned two-tier Lala Chanchal Dass DAVIET Auditorium with a seating capacity of 1200.
DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology - DAVIET Jalandhar Theater is set up with new sound systems, which is capable of being reconfigured to suit different needs. The Institute has a standard, boom, wide-angle microphones, floor mics and hi-fidelity mics.
DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology - DAVIET Jalandhar offers courses in under-graduate curriculum that consists of two main components i.e. Core courses and Professional courses. The core courses lay importance on concepts and principles. It lays a strong emphasis on the teaching of basic Sciences and Engineering Sciences subjects. Importance is also given on the communication skills in English language – the medium of instructions. The courses lay importance on design, manufacture, professional practice and technology with a built-in-flexibility to encourage students to focus in streams of their choice through a system of professional and open electives.
The key feature of the syllabus is “Industrial Training Semester” which can be held either in seventh or eighth semester of the Bachelor of Technology Programme. The Master of Technology Programme has been planned to develop a deep understanding of fundamental principles and the state of knowledge in a chosen area through courses, self study and research.
DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology - DAVIET Jalandhar, has a Training & Placement Cell that looks after the Placement activities. The Training and Placement cell offers support for placement of Final year & Pre Final year students. It helps in arranging campus interviews, grooming students to face the final test of their knowledge, create and arrange value added Industrial/Practical Training to the students.
