Dr Akhtar Hasan Rizvi Shia Degree College - Jaunpur has started its function from 12th July 1994 for the session 1994-95. The College building was inaugurated by H.E. Hon’ble K.R Narayanan, The Vice President Govt. of India on 3rd April 1995. Although managed and administrated by learned Committee of management elected by the Board of Trustees consisting of members of the community the doors of the college are wide open to all, irrespective of any caste and creed. This is in keeping with best tradition of Islam as preached and practiced by Prophet Mohammad and Hazrat Ali, and his successors (Peace be upon them).

New courses are going to be introduced for the Computer Science Department.

The laboratories in the Science Faculty are well equipped with the latest and advanced instruments and apparatus which are essential for advanced scientific education.
