Government Polytechnic - Lakhimpur Kheri was established in the year 1983-84. It is situated at Aira Road near Salempur Kone Lakhimpur-Kheri. The institute is well connected by road and railways. The distance of institute by road from Lucknow is 135 kms. The distance of the institute from railway station is about 3.5 Kms. and from bus stand is also the same. First time, Government Polytechnic - Lakhimpur Kheri was established with only one branch that was Two Year Diploma in Pharmacy in the year 1984 with the admission capacity of 30 students. But one more branch was started in the year 1993-94 that was Three Year Diploma in Chemical Technology (Fertilizer) with the admission capacity of 30 students.
Government Polytechnic - Lakhimpur Kheri is spread on a green lush's area of 18.96 acres. The institute has an academic block, class rooms, drawing halls, a workshop, NCC block, faculty and staff accommodation, a hostel building for the 60 students is available in the institute campus. Various labs for Pharmacy and Chemical Technology (Fertilizer) were also established. Government Polytechnic - Lakhimpur Kheri is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy course is approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
