Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi was established by the Nitte Education Trust on July 4, 1998. Named after the visionary and founder, late Justice K S Hegde, the Institute offers a two-year full time MBA program recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and the Government of Karnataka and is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi is also recognized as a centre for guiding research. It is one among the very few AICTE-NBA accredited institutes and is certified to ISO 9001:2008 standards by KEMA, Netherlands. Our institute has been ranked "A++" level business school as per the Business India survey of 2010. Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi has been recognized among the premier B-schools in Karnataka based on its performance in the field of academics, consultancy and research activity. The prestigious ICMR-4Ps B&M B-School Survey, 2010 has ranked our institute at the 45th position in its final ranking analysis. Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi has a comprehensive library with a hybrid collection of books, journals, audio-visuals, CDs / DVDs, reports, case studies and training manuals. The basic shopping needs of the boarders are met by the co-operative stores which sell everything from stationery items to biscuits and soaps at reduced prices. These stores are situated within the campus.
Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi has a state-of-the-art indoor stadium with facilities for toning up the body and developing a holistic personality. The stadium houses a basketball court, a badminton court, a tennis court and a gymnasium. The campus has large playgrounds for outdoor games and sports. The Institute also lays emphasis on the participation of students in Yoga and meditation.
There is a fully fledged branch of the Syndicate Bank with a 24 hr ATM facility in Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi. The ATM facility of the Corporation Bank is situated right across the road in front of the campus. There is also a branch of the Vijaya Bank nearly a km from the campus and a Corporation Bank branch at Doopadakatte 3 kms on the road to Karkala. The Nitte post office is located just behind the Syndicate Bank branch.
Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi provides free medical facilities to the students at the medical centre in the campus. The medical centre also has a dental clinic. A resident doctor is always available in case of an emergency. A vegetarian canteen where South Indian food is served at a subsidized rate is situated close to the main block.
Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi provides hostel facility. The hostel fee, which includes the caution deposit, mess advance and the room rent, will be collected at the time of admission. The mess advance is collected at the beginning of each semester while the room rent for each academic year will be collected at the beginning of the year along with the other fees of the college. The caution deposit will be refunded only at the end of the course. The hostel rent though, will not be refunded.
A research committee has been formed to promote and supervise research activities at Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi. The committee meets at least twice a year and submits a report to the Trust at the end of every academic year, evaluating the research activities undertaken during the year. To facilitate research activities, centers for studies in banking and finance, WTO and globalization and corporate philanthropy have been established.
An active placement committee, with a full time placement officer assisted by 2 faculty members and student representatives, looks after the placement activities at Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management - JKSHIM Udupi. The committee explores different areas of opportunities for placements. It takes special care to ensure that students are aware of the latest placement situations and opportunities and motivates them to work towards their respective goals. It bridges the gap between the demand for talents from the industry and the search by the students for a right career... and it all begins with the right kind of summer training they undergo which leads to successful executive placements. The cell conducts lectures, seminars and demonstrations by experienced and reputed persons from different streams.
