A Library is a collection of information, resources and services, organized for use, and maintained by a responsible body. A KG College of Arts and Science – KGCAS Coimbatore modern Library provides educational resources to students and teachers through publications and other electronics media.
The library is panned in a 3000 square feet building with air-conditioning facility and it can accommodate 100 students for reading. The library is computerized and well equipped with more than 7000 volumes in various disciplines, 55 magazines and periodicals. The college has invested more than Rs 35, 00,000 for the library in the last 4 years.
KG College of Arts and Science – KGCAS Coimbatore spends for the library every year a minimum of Rs 5,00,000 for the books and Rs 2,00,000 for subscribing the journals and periodicals. The N.S.S Wing with 50 Volunteers under the program officer Mr. Poovalingam involved in various activities like Blood Grouping, Blood Donation, Special Camp and various awareness programmes. In this academic year the special camp was conducted at Paalamalai. Even in the midst of sudden entry of elephants the NSS students with the wise guidance of Mr.Poovalingam and Mr.Meria Sebastian conducted the camp successfully.
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Zone of the KG College of Arts and Science – KGCAS Coimbatore is headed with 1 programme officer and 50 Volunteers and it is the part of Indian Red Cross Society (Tamil Nadu Branch). It provides awareness programmes for first aid, five fighting methods, Voluntary blood donation, Yoga and other physical fitness exercises. It also organizes National, State and Universities Level YRC campus for the students during December/January every year. College offers different kind of Bachelor, Master and Master of philosophy courses leading to Arts, Science, Commerce and Management stream with various specializations.
