National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology – Noida centrally regulates academics for hospitality and hotel administration and other eleven structured courses of studies that are imparted at the existing 24 Institutes of Hotel Management and 7 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country. All Institutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula prescribed by the Council for the twelve different professional programmes.

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology – Noida regulates academics in the field of hospitality Education and Training that is imparted at the twenty four Government sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management and seven Food Craft Institutes that function in different parts of the country. Through the Council, these institutes offer twelve different professional programmes leading to award of Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, Bachelor and Master Degree, (the last two programmes are conducted in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University).
The Bachelor of Science programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology – Noida and the Indira Gandhi National Open University. The Three-Year programme equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skills standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. The programme of National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology – Noida imparts substantial management inputs in area such as Sales and Marketing, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Hotel and Catering Law, Property Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Computers with special focus on Tourism Studies.
Aims and objectives of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology – Noida and its role as the apex formation in the country to ensure co-ordinate growth and development of hospitality manpower education through its affiliated Institutes are elaborated in its Memorandum of Association which, among other things, mandates the Council to effectively discharge functions such as formulate, guide and coordinate various types of studies, knowledge and research inclusive of Graduate and Post Graduate studies in the field of Food Management, Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition and allied skills and crafts. Affiliate institutions concerned with the subject and prescribe courses of study and instructions leading to examinations conducted by it. Centrally recruit and appoint staff to all Groups ‘A’ posts and maintain a common pool thereof and depute them against Group ‘A’ vacancies conveyed by the affiliated Institutes of Hotel Management set up by Central Government. Prescribe standards for buildings and equipment for affiliated institutes. Prescribe educational qualifications and other standards for faculty and members of staff of affiliated institutes and, where necessary, depute them for further training, both within and outside the country.
