New Alipore College – Kolkata started its journey on 5th August 1963 as a Government Sponsored Co-educational Degree College affiliated to university of Kolkata. During its eventful existence the college played an important role in advancement of learning it’s academic and extra-curricular facilities to the students of south Kolkata and adjacent areas of Behala, Batanagar, Budge-Budge extending to Diamond Harbor.
The mission of the New Alipore College – Kolkata is to impart quality education to its student. Conscious efforts are also taken to make students aware of social responsibilities. College is situated by the side of Durgapur Bridge and New-Alipore railway station ,and is well connected by surface railway(Sealdah-Budge Budge Section),Metro Railway(Rabindranath Sarobar & Kailghat station) and road transport served by the bus route No. 7,14,18,18B,SD-4,SD-5,1B,Jadavpur - Purbanchal Mini etc.
New Alipore College – Kolkata students have free access to the library enriched with a large stock of valuable books, journals and daily newspapers, for both lending and reference purposes. Students have to procure a library card to enjoy all the facilities of the library,(which remains open from 7 to 8pm) on all working days from Monday to Friday and also on Saturday from 7 am to 2.15 pm.
New Alipore College – Kolkata students may avail of concession-cards for traveling by Bus, and Trains. These cards are issued to bonafide students from the college office on production of the following documents such as Fee-cards and identity cards, Written application, at least 3-working days before the date of requirement in the first week of the month and A certificate stating guardian/parents income from authorized person.
Aid fund has been created out of the fees collected from the New Alipore College – Kolkata students to extend financial assistance to the financially handicapped students of this college by considering such as Written application from the student, being signed jointly by him/her and his/her official guardian, Income certificate of father/guardian establishing financial inability from appropriate authority, Academic performance of the student and Conduct of the student.
We have in our New Alipore College – Kolkata a "Students Counseling Cell ".Academic career and psychological counseling to the students are provided under the guidance of appropriate counselors and experienced teacher of our college. Psychological Counselors also attend our counseling centers in case of necessity. Any student of our College who needs additional support can avail of this benefit.
New Alipore College – Kolkata offers different kind of Bachelor courses leading to arts group in various sectors. Various companies hold campus interviews, and a number of students find employment straight after passing out. We have started Spoken English Course to the interested students which are self-financing department. We hope to be SSC/WBCS entrance course from this session.
