Jacobs Field and was named after the chairman of The Richard E. Jacobs Group, Richard E. "Dick" Jacobs. In the year 2008, an American car insurance services company, The Progressive Corporation purchased the naming rights and since then, it is called the Progressive Field. The company signed agreement to pay $57.6 million for the period of 16 years. It was planned to rename the field as Progressive Park, but as the name was already used, so it was named Progressive Field.
