R J T Commerce College – RJTCC Ahmedabad Principal B. M Peerzada, a prominent academician and the dean of commerce faculty, Gujarat University from 1971 to 1972 , 1976 to 1979 and 1979 to 1982, took the challenge, in 1982 to establish an English medium college affiliated to Gujarat University. He had the skill and the experience to address this Herculean task and he brought together seven distinguished people who were the who’s-who of the academic field. They were not merely degree holders or people from the corporate world but were individuals who knew the dynamics of education from inside out. A trust was set up in the name of Lok Jagruti Kendra. This trust, then, went on to define the parameters on which the college would function.
R J T Commerce College – RJTCC Ahmedabad infrastructure includes a library that is a veritable treasure of knowledge, with a 12-hours access. Students have access to the library for at least three hours every day over and above the normal working hours of the college. They are allowed to borrow up to two books at a given time.
R J T Commerce College – RJTCC Ahmedabad facility to get photocopies of relevant reading material and question papers of past years is available to students at nominal charges. With a total carpet area of 1650 sq.ft, the library has a seating capacity of about 80 students and is accessible to students from 7-30 a.m. to 7-30 p. m. The college library has a strong treasure of over 11500 titles and 15000 volumes.
R J T Commerce College – RJTCC Ahmedabad was the pioneer in introducing Computer Education at the graduate level., in Ahmedabad. Today the college offers Computer Science as a Subsidiary option. We have two fully air conditioned labs with carpet area of 825 Square Feet each.The lab is well equipped with all computers having the latest configuration with Pentiums with latest software.The labs are open from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. making them freely accessible for students.
