The Genesis-Established in 1994 as Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering under the VEC affiliated to the Madras University, is today School of Electrical Engineering - SELECT Vellore under the University that VIT is. This merger brings in synergy by way of optimization of resources and higher levels of interaction. The School of Electrical Engineering (SELECT) has more than 60 faculty members, with many PhD holders among them. Over 40 are pursuing Ph.D. programmes.
