Shri Agrasen Kanya Mahavidyalaya – Korba was founded in 1999 by Agrawal Sabha, Korba in Chhattisgarh State with the well defined objective of ensuring all round development and imparting quality education to girls in a secure and intuitive environment. The Agrawal Sabha, Korba – a representative body of Agrawals is sincerely working to promote girls’ education in Korba city. To achieve this objective it started the educational institutions and provided the infrastructure and finance.
Shri Agrasen Kanya Mahavidyalaya – Korba situated in the heart of city, on Darri Road, Korba Shri Agrasen Kanya Mahavidyalaya – Korba building is built on a land measuring about 1.30 Acre. The main building is surrounded by available land for playgrounds, cultural activities, canteen facility and space for parking inside the secure boundaries of the campus.
Shri Agrasen Kanya Mahavidyalaya – Korba comes under Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur and runs various undergraduate courses in Science, Arts, Commerce, Home Science and Teachers' Training. The college has faculties of Geography, Political Science, Sociology, History, Economics, Home science, Hindi, English, Commerce and Education (Under B. Ed. Program). In Science the faculties include Mathematics, Microbiology, Botony, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Home Science.
The strength of students in Shri Agrasen Kanya Mahavidyalaya – Korba is more than 500 at present, number of teaching staff 19 and non-teaching staff 10. The medium of teaching is Hindi and English. The college has a good track record of students’ participation in cultural, sports and NSS activities. The academic performance of students has been excellent so far. Many students have been able to score very high ranks figuring in the merit list of the University. All infrastructural facilities including computers, science labs, library, classrooms, furniture, play ground, sport equipments, laboratory equipments, educational books and teaching aids have been made available at the campus by the management as per the requirement of the institution.
