Ch S D St Theresas College for Women – Eluru was founded in 1953 by the Congregation of the Sisters of St.Ann of Providence, a missionary society founded by Marquis Cario Tancredi and Marchioness Giulia Colbert Barolo Blessed Mother Enrichetta was the co-foundress of the congregation. The starting of a College at Eluru, to provide higher education for girls was the dream of Mother Clemenza the then provential superior. This dream was materialized by the support of well meaning people like Chintalapati Satyavathi Devi and Murthi Raju.

Ch S D St Theresas College for Women – Eluru is situated at Eluru, West Godavari District Andhra Pradesh. The main Campus has an open and porous space. It has been a challenge to make it safe and secure for the community, particularly for women students. All the measures, over the past years, have made the campus a much safer place, for women. Ch S D St Theresas College for Women – Eluru Library is housed in three different blocks as follows: P.G Library is located on the 1st floor of the P.G Extension Block in degree campus. Degree Library is situated on the first floor of the P.G. Block. Intermediate Library is situated on the first floor of the left wing of the old college building. The Library maintains a Book Bank with a sizeable number of books for economically backward students who are allowed to borrow 2 extra books for a period of 3 months or a year as may be fixed by the librarian.
An Integral part of Ch S D St Theresas College for Women – Eluru are the hostels in the two campuses. All the hostels are well-equipped, with adequate ventilation and lighting facility. Each room is fitted with tube lights and fans, and each student is provided with a cot, chair and a table. Periodicals and newspapers are supplied to each hostel. Facilities are available for about 750 students who are under supervision of the wardens and assistant wardens. The resident staff also help them to feel at home. The spirit of oneness is fortnightly as students come from different social, economic and religious backgrounds. The fort nightly, common recreation and celebration of Hostel day and other major festivals offer the students an opportunity to discover and develop their talents.

The College has a stationary in the campus, near the canteen which provides stationary things to the students in the campus which helps them to buy without leaving the campus during the college working hours. Ch S D St Theresas College for Women – Eluru has a well-equipped Language Lab with 60 computers installed with all the accessories such as head-phones, speakers and software packages. The Lab is furnished with sophisticated Machines of Language Lab system required for equipping oneself for undertaking GRE, TOEFL, IELTS Exams. The Home Theatre is another special feature of the Language Lab. The Andhra Bank Extension Counter was opened in 2003. It's a well equipped and neatly furnished building situated within the campus, in close proximity to the Sanivarapupeta road. It provides facilities to the staff and students to deposit /withdraw money whenever necessary. The students also remit the college fees in the Bank. It has locker facility. It carries out all the functions that a bank normally does.

While fixing primary thrust to the IQ. development the EQ, (Emotional Quotient), SQ (Social Quotient) and PQ (Physical Quotient) is also given adequate thrust. The 1500 sq ft gym is equipped with Treadmill, twisters, fit kit., etc., where in the students enjoy the facilities to keep themselves fit for life & fit for job. A magnificent structure built in a plinth area of 84000sft. Can accommodate 2000 students, The stage is artistically decorated and contains an area of 84000sq.ft. The daily assembly is conducted in the auditorium. It is frequently used for all the college functions. The auditorium is furnished with proper acoustics 'and light. The specially designed wavelike roofing has been a matter of attraction for everyone.
Ch S D St Theresas College for Women – Eluru Career Guidance and job placement cell is being run successfully under the able guidance of Placement Officers. The Counseling Cell has six members of the College and functions from 4.15 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on weekdays. The students are free to contact the counselors, even other times with prior appointment. Dr.Nirmala Devi, the Campus Physicion, visits the College on Fridays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and conducts medical check up to those students who are in need of it.
