BESCOM originally Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited is an electricity company responsible for the distribution of electricity in the city of Bangalore. It is owned by the "Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited", also known as KPTCL. KPTCL is a governmental agency that takes the responsibility of distribution of electricity to eight districts of Karnataka covering Kolar, Tumkur, Davangere, Ramnagaram, Urban and some rural areas of Bangalore city. It provides electricity to over two crore people living in an area of 41,092 sq. Kms.

History


BESCOM started business operations in the year 2002. BESCOM's operations are divided into Three divisions depending upon the areas titled as Bangalore Metropolitan Area Zone, Bangalore Rural Area Zone and Chitradurga Zone. It is one of the zonal bodies of the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation, which came into existence after the dissolution of Karnataka Electricity Board in the year 1999. Many independent power generation companies Act as the electricity suppliers to BESCOM. The company caters to the needs of the domestic, commercial, and industrial customers. Its corporate office is located at KR Circle, Bangalore.

My RR s12eh17486, j. p. Nagar 8th phase, one of your meter reader taken wrong meter reading of 1698 units "instead of 1498 units"and generated the bill of rs:2311/-in the month of june-2015, it is residential building not a commercial building, finally i am surprising how come 391 units used in one month of June only, when all the months usage of 100 units only, .
