Auxilium College – Vellore was began on 1st July 1954. This day stands out as a landmark in the History of the then North Arcot District for it set in motion the transformation of a barren wasteland into a sprawling township with the dawn of higher education for women. The seed was sown on fertile soil by a Valiant Woman - Rev. Mother Cesira Gallina - an ardent Italian Missionary. It was an act of unlimited trust in God and of farsighted vision: "The education of young women, especially the poorest, into empowered and efficient leaders of integrity for the Church and the Society". Auxilium College – Vellore began on a humble scale with just 67 students and 12 Staff members. The seed that was sown 50 years ago has germinated in Rich Soil and has grown in to a mighty tree spreading its branches far and wide. Today, the College has strength of almost 2500 students on roll in the Day and Evening sessions, 125 staff members and 80 administrative and supportive Staff.
Auxilium College – Vellore offers 14 undergraduate, 9 postgraduate courses and 2 research studies. In September 2003, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council has accredited the College with an A+ Grade giving an Institutional Score of 90 to 95%. Auxilium College – Vellore celebrated the golden jubilee of its establishment in the academic year 2003-2004. In gratitude to God for all that has been during the past 50 years, Auxilium recommitted itself to the cause of a purposeful higher education and looks forward to reaching greater heights of excellence. In March 2007 the college conferred the autonomous status by the UGC.

The large dining hall can accommodate 650 students at a time. Entertainment and recreational facilities, indoor and outdoor games, counseling and an infirmary are available. An aesthetically designed spacious place of worship-a place of peace and serenity-is open to all. First Aid facility is available in the hostel. The vegetarian and Non-vegetarian Mess is available. It has a modern, spacious and clean kitchen with facilities for steam cooking.
One of the most important activities vital to the successful operation of the Salesian System of Education is games and sports. A sound body is a place for a sound mind. Convinced of this wise saying, Auxilium College – Vellore offers the students ample opportunities for physical training and chances for excelling in sports and games. From the year 2001 the Department of Physical Education also offers a three-year B.Sc. Degree Course. This facilitates their entry into professional courses of Physical Education. Auxilium College – Vellore has 13 teams, namely, Hockey, Handball, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Shuttle Badminton, Ball Badminton, Cricket, Chess and Athletics. The players undergo regular coaching. The students actively participate in the intramurals. The celebration of Sports Day is an annual feature, which brings out the sports talents in the students. They participate actively in the Intercollegiate, Interdivisional and Inter University Tournaments. Besides, they take part in the District, State and National level Sports and Tournaments.
Auxilium College – Vellore offers a wide variety of possibilities for the physical education of the students for developing their sports skills and for training them in health and fitness. The Outdoor Playground facilities are: Ball Badminton Courts, Basketball Courts, Handball Court, Kabaddi Courts, Kho-Kho Courts, Shuttle Courts, Volleyball Courts, Cricket Pitch, Hockey Field, Football Field, Non-standard 400 m 6-lane track, Long Jump Pit, High Jump Pit, Triple Jump Pit, Discus, Javelin, Shot Put and Hammer Throw Areas. Indoor Stadium with an area of 12,100 sq. ft. containing specially designed Gym for Weightlifting, two Shuttle Courts, Volleyball Court, Basketball Court, Table Tennis tables, Physical Directors’ Room, Dressing Room, Equipment Room, Yoga Room, Toilets and Bathing Rooms and a Mini Physical Education Library. Other equipments such as Carom Boards, Chess Boards, Roman Rings, Horizontal Bar, Dumb Bells, Table, Hurdles and Hoops are also available.
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Auxilium College – Vellore is a dynamic body functioning to provide wholesome development to the students. The cell works under the guidance of placement officers who are supported by student placement secretary and representative’s .The Principal and all faculty members extend their wholehearted support to the functioning of the unit.
