With a view to filling the dearth of qualified professionals in the field of international business, Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade-BIFT was established in October 2001, under a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi. Established in 1963 by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, IIFT is rated as the best management school in international business and enjoys the status of a 'Deemed University'. Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade offers the Masters Programme in International Business (MPIB), which draws its curriculum from MBA (IB) course of IIFT, which extends faculty and academic support to BIFT. The acceptance for the program from the student / parent community and industry stakeholders has been overwhelming. Presently over 550 BIFT alumni are occupying coveted positions in related organizations in India and abroad with attractive remunerations.
Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade-BIFT is located in Kachiguda, Hyderabad, in a big complex that is an aesthetic blend of modern and ancient architecture. The BIFT library has a collection of over 10,000 books and subscribes to 40 National/International journals and magazines. As many as 1,100 e-journals through EBSCO and databases like CMIE’s India Trades and Prowess, as also Kompass Trade Directory, have been provided to the students. Valuable data is also available in the form of trade directories, Country/Product Research Reports, Project Reports, Trade Publications, Video-library, CDs and software packages of various kinds, etc.
The Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade-BIFT has a state-of-the-art Computer Centre with a Local Area Network comprising a Server, 80 Pentium Nodes and 24 Hour Internet access through a dedicated broadband link, electronic databases, etc. Separate Blocks with adequate number of rooms are available for boys and girls. Annual Charges for Hostel boarding and lodging are about Rs 32,000 PA. but may undergo periodic revision in case of significant price increases. Air-conditioned classrooms and a seminar hall-cum-auditorium equipped with contemporary teaching equipment such as an LCD projector, overhead projector, TV and VCR, broadband internet connection, audio system, etc. Serving hygienic and tasty snacks, the cozy cafeteria on the college campus also provides a useful platform for informal exchange of ideas/information between students of various batches and disciplines, as well as with the faculty.
