Central Institute of Fisheries Education - CIFE Rohtak is established fully fledged center at Lahli-Baniyani near Rohtak, in Haryana in March, 1996. The center has 4.5 ha farm at Lahli and 10 ha farm at Baniyani, the former representing the low saline zone and the latter high saline zone. The operational water area is however limited to about 1 ha and 2 ha respectively in Lahli and Baniyani farms. The center has 9 pilot prawn hatchery and multiple hatchery block. The center has five type I and four type II quarters and a guest house. Central Institute of Fisheries Education - CIFE Rohtak is organizing the short term training programs for the benefit of in-service personnel, researchers and fish farmers on various topics of fishery importance and also guiding the farmers who have problems related to fish diseases, mortality and poor growth. The CIFE Rohtak Centre is one of the major units working exclusively for the development of inland ground saline water aquaculture in India. The centre has already identified the suitable aquaculture species of both fish and prawn and has standardized few technologies ready for transfer to the end-users.
Central Institute of Fisheries Education - CIFE Rohtak has been accredited by ICAR for five years from September, 2007 to August, 2012. CIFE offers Master of Fishery Science programmes in nine disciplines viz. Fisheries Resources Management, Aquaculture, Post-harvest Technology, Fish Nutrition and Biochemistry, Fish Pathology and Microbiology, Fish Genetics and Biotechnology, Fish Business Management, Aquatic Environment Management and Fisheries Extension, while the doctoral programmes are offered in the ten disciplines viz. Fisheries Resources Management, Aquaculture, Post-harvest Technology, Fish Genetics, Fish Biotechnology, Fish Nutrition and Biochemistry, Fish Pathology and Microbiology, Fish Business Management, Aquatic Environment Management and Fisheries Extension. Central Institute of Fisheries Education - CIFE Rohtak provides Diploma, Master Degree and Doctoral program to the students.

Central Institute of Fisheries Education - CIFE Rohtak is having full-fledged computer laboratory with Internet connection. The institution is equipped with LCD, Scanner, CD Writer and other equipments wherein the students and teacher educators fully avail the facilities. CIFE has developed a well equipped Electronics/Physics lab under the able guidance of experienced faculties. Most modern electronics practical kits are available in the Lab. Besides the institution have well furnished laboratories for Biotechnology, Microbiology, Physics & Chemistry.
Central Institute of Fisheries Education - CIFE Rohtak has two seminar halls with all modern facilities in the campus. The juries and seminars are conducted in seminar hall with ultra modern LCD projector, computer, and audio and video facilities. The college building seminar hall has a capacity of 100, The IT building hall has a capacity of 250 and all the juries and seminars are conducted in the seminar hall. The hall is equipped with ultra modern LCD projector, computer workstation, audio-visual facilities and wireless Internet facilities.
Central Institute of Fisheries Education - CIFE Rohtak offers hostel facilities to the students in the hostel located in the campus that is meant for all students of CIFE. Psychology Lab has all the tests and the corresponding equipments for conducting psychology experiments based on B. Ed. syllabus. College also provides expert guidance and counseling services to needy students. CIFE has several classrooms which are well equipped with the latest teaching aids and equipments.

Both physical and mental health plays an important role for the well-being of an individual.
