CMD PG College – Bilaspur was initiated as an instrument for democratizing and augmenting opportunities for higher education in the year 1956 for the students living these remote rural and tribal areas of central India by Pt. Dwarika Prasad Dubey with a great and wide vision and limited resources. During its short existence, the college has made a significant impact in the field of higher education of the area of Chhattisgarh.
CMD PG College – Bilaspur is included under section 2(f) and section 12(B) of University Grand Commission and receives development Grants from UGC. The college also receives an annual grant from State Govt. of Chhattisgarh towards salary of teaching and non-teaching staff. CMD PG College – Bilaspur has celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2006 and is acknowledged as a centre of excellence. CMD PG College – Bilaspur offers different kind of undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses.
CMD PG College – Bilaspur is situated at Link Road, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The college has huge infrastructure facilities and strength of 92 renowned and devoted team of professors. There are about 4000 learners (Students) and a large number of technical, supporting staff. CMD PG College – Bilaspur has well equipped modern laboratories. CMD PG College – Bilaspur has separate well furnished Central library and is equipped with about 40.000 books and Journals related to various Subjects. College is having a separate building for boys hostel providing accommodations to about 200 UG/PG, student. CMD PG College – Bilaspur has a well equipped indoor stadium for badminton, Table tennis and provides indoor Gym equipments, yoga coaching classes are also organized from time to time. College campus is also having an open stadium for Cricket, Hockey and Football etc. College has a canteen in the campus run by Nescafe staff and provides snacks, tea, coffee, cold drinks, during college hours.
CMD PG College – Bilaspur has one unit of NSS having total strength of 100 students. The aim of NSS is to provide and opportunity and working experience for social services. The students participate in various activities like plantation, blood donation, seminar and rural camp for ten days in a rural village. The College is having separate units of NCC for Boys and girls, Cadets of this unit have achieved many national awards and every year participate in republic day parable held at Delhi. In the College campus and ATM of Allah bad bank has been started, A post office is also situated near the college campus, it is known as CMD College post office.
Besides academic pursuits, CMD PG College – Bilaspur encourages the students to achieve all round personality development. To achieve this objective college makes special concerted effort to provide opportunities to the students by organizing cultural functions and by encouraging students to participate in events like classical vocal dance, folk dance, debate, drama, paintings and creative writing, flower decoration. Etc. CMD PG College – Bilaspur has a separate cell as per UGC guidelines and provides help to students connection to their scholarships the cell also coordinates for SC, ST and OBC Students for there placements and jobs.
