The central library of Cooperative Medical College - CMC Kochi has a floor space of 900 sq.m. The library is functioning in two floors . The ground floor includes stack room, seating arrangement for staff, journal section, binding section, acquisition section and computer section.The first floor includes reading room for students and photocopying section.There are 7220 books in the library and with more than 100 foreign journals. The working hours of library are from 10 am to 7 pm (two shifts).There are fifty seats for reading for teaching staff and hundred seats for students.There is an Internet connection available in the library and is accessible to all teaching staff . Photocopying service is also made available to both staff and students.The books are arranged in the library, subject wise and an American scheme of classification is used for this purpose (Dewey Decimal classification .20th edition).The catalogue for books have been computerized with software named Alice for windows, version 6.0(standard module)
Cooperative Medical College - CMC Kochi have five well furnished and spacious Lecture Halls each with a seating capacity of more than 100 and all equipped with latest Audio-visual equipment like OHPs, LCD projectors, Computers, Micro phones etc. Seminar Halls for each department available. The Auditorium is well furnished with a seating capacity of 400. Specially built Exam hall for 200 students .Demonstration rooms and research rooms for each department also present with All department having their own Libraries and laboratories with latest equipments.
There is a 110 KV substation on the campus of Cooperative Medical College - CMC Kochi and a 24 hour standby generator. There are two deep water wells with perennial supply of water. Purified water is available round the clock. Environment friendly incineration, categorised waste disposal and a bio-gas plant (under construction) using hospital waste are the various facilities available for waste disposal.In addition to the Ernakulam District Co-Operative Bank and its ATM in the campus, many banks with ATM facilities are present within walking distance from the Cooperative Medical College - CMC Kochi.A well equipped gym and other facilities for indoor and outdoor games are provided within the campus. Hostel accommodation is available for all the students of Cooperative Medical College - CMC Kochi. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, with spacious rooms three, double and single bedded. Basic furniture is provided in the rooms. They also have common rooms for recreation facilities, reading rooms and TV room. Round the clock security is provided to all the hostels.
