Deccan College of Medical Sciences – Hyderabad under the aegis of Dar-us-Salam Educational Trust, under the Chairmanship of ALHAJ SULTAN SALAHUDDIN OWAISI, EX. M.P., was started in the year 1984 with an intake of 100 seats in M.B;B.S. course. Keeping in view of the infrastructure facilities, state of the art equipment and highly qualified teaching staff, the intake capacity has been increased to 150 seats from Sept., 1995 with the permission of the Medical Council of India, New Delhi. Deccan College of Medical Sciences – Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh for Muslim Minorities, recognized by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi. It has been in existence since 24 years and 18 batches of students have passed out from the Institution. The 19th Batch of M.B.B.S. students are now doing their internship.
Deccan College of Medical Sciences – Hyderabad is established and administered by Muslim Minority Trust i.e., Darus-Salam Educational Trust under the provisions of Article 30(1) of the Constitution of India. Primarily benefits of this college goes to the Muslim Minority. The benefits of this college is also extended to non-minorities students. The Muslim students admitted in the college are supposed to follow the basic tenets of Islam. All arrangements and adequate accommodation for prayers have been provided in this college. Deccan College of Medical Sciences – Hyderabad offers different kind of undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate diplomas and super specialty courses.

Deccan College of Medical Sciences – Hyderabad Library is housed in two big halls, on the right Wing of the III floor of the Owaisi Hospital & Research Centre's building. Library is well equipped with adequate Books, Journals, audio & visual aids and online facility is also provided for the Under graduate students, PG Students and Faculty. Total Books and Journals : Books 12502 and Journal 147 are available in our library.
In addition to boarding, lodging facilities, the other facilities provided at Deccan College of Medical Sciences – Hyderabad are internet, Television for Entertainment of Hostlers and more than adequate furniture provided for Hostlers. Two separate visiting lounges are provided to respectively Boys & Girls Hostels. It has Standby Generator, 24 Hours cover for Boys and Girls Hostels. Measures have been taken to provide full security for the students who are staying in Hostel. In our college regular practice facilities for students, Table Tennis, Caroms , Chess , Badminton, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Foot Ball and Track and field events. Separate practice facilities for girls in Table Tennis, Caroms and chess. Deccan College of Medical Sciences – Hyderabad Basket Ball team took part in All India Medical College invitation tournament organized by Ramayya Medical College, Bangalore and got first place.
