Faculty of law, University of Lucknow has been a pioneer legal institutions of India. It was established in 1921 with Mr. Jag Mohan Nath Chak as the first Dean. The real architect was Prof. R.U. Singh who with great zeal and enthusiasm organized teaching and research in the faculty in a systematic way. He held the office of the Dean, Faculty of Law till 1956. He also structured the Law Faculties of Delhi and Benaras Hindu University. Dr. V.N.Shukla, the well known authority of Constitutional Law was the first LL.M. of the University.
Faculty of law, University of Lucknow has produced many distinguished personalities including Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma, former President of India, Shri Ram Krishna Hegde, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Surjeet Singh Barnala, the Governer of Uttaranchal and Mr. N.K.P. Salve. Similarly, Mr. Justice A.S. Anand, Former Chief Justice of India and Mr. Justice Saghir Ahmed , Mr. Justice Brijesh Kumar of the Supreme Court and many High Court Judges graduated from this Faculty.
Training and Placement Cell at Faculty of law, University of Lucknow is being established to play a vital role for the training and placement of the students in the institute. With the recent increase in the likelihood for law as a career, competition for employment is increasing every day and placement has become a challenging task. A full fledged placement cell is being established in our college with the support of senior teachers and students for this purpose.
The Training & Placement Cell of
Faculty of law, University of Lucknow would provide for all audio visual facilities, for PowerPoint Presentations, written test, group discussion and interviews. It shall play a very important and key role in counselling and guiding the students of the University for their Successful Placement which is a crucial interface between the stage of completion of academic program of the students and their entry into the suitable employment. This cell shall also coordinate various activities related to the career of the students along with the internships.
