Part 3:We installed the new grates but, after the first use, the problems are the same. Ordinary cleaning damages the porcelain without cleaning it. The new grates are now chipped and spotted although the cleaning process we used is far less aggressive than with the original grates. Please note that the original gas burners still in use below the grates are finished with grey porcelain. That finish is still hard, tight and consistent after decades of scrubbing to remove all stains. That is our standard for a usable product and these new grates in no way meet that standard. Please assist us in resolving this matter. Our plan had been to replace the grates this year and the burner parts next year. That is now seems pointless as these other parts are likely to be as unusable as the grates. That will also preclude us from purchasing any Fisher and Paykel appliances in the future. Thank you,

Part 2:While we waited, a local professional that specifies and accepts Fisher and Paykel and other kitchen equipment inspected the grates. His opinion was that the chipped off paint, staining through the finish and missing pads seemed to indicate that the grates were not new. Again, we called Fisher and Paykel and, after holding for 20 minutes, a service representative responded to forward our request for review. When that review was complete, we received a credit and a promise of new grates within two days. We received the new grates as promised and they looked acceptable, although also painted grey porcelain. Still, the finish appeared more consistent and tighter. There were no obvious stains, chips or missing rubber pads.

Part 1: We were excited to learn that we could order new grates for our 16-yearold DCS-RG-366-L from Fisher and Paykel. We ordered and received the new grates. But, when they arrived, they were all unusable. The finish on all new grates was inconsistent grey porcelain and soft. Most of the grates were stained or chipped down to bare metal and some were missing rubber-leveling pads. The original grates to be replaced had a different finish. It was a hard, shinny black enamel, or similar, paint. It was durable and easy to clean without serious damage for about 15-years. It was what we expected to replace the old grates. Thru the Fisher and Paykel USA website we were able to call the service department and explain what had happen. We were directed to post photos of the grates and a written description on the USA service website we also posted them to this website. Thank you,

To clarify my complaint of the condition of six replacement stove top grates, we showed these grates to an expert who designs and installs kitchens and kitchen appliances. His opinion was that these parts appeared to be repainted or re-conditioned and are not acceptable as new parts. This complaint form does not confirm to me that the photos of the specific damage have been, in fact, uploaded so I am re-attaching the same photos to this message. Mr. Dale Norton On Phone To Fisher and Paykel Service
We received damaged and defective replacement parts that do not appear to be new. ORDER Number: ON64069472 Top grates six total. These were damaged with chips in the finish to expose bare metal, missing/damaged rubber leveling pads and stains. Unlike the original parts with a hard, shiny black finish, these grates have an inconsistent grey porcelain coating. This is apparently why the grates cannot be cleaned. So, after a few day's use they seem as old as the original parts. I have attached photos of the replacement grates to illustrate the many defects. Please replace these parts with new parts that match the original stovetop.
