Malwa College of Nursing - Kolkapura was established in 2000. The Malwa College of Nursing Kotkapura is being managed by The Malwa Educational Society (Regd.) Faridkot and has been registered on 12th Jan.1999 under the Society Registration Act(XXI of 1860) and as amended by Punjab amendment Act ,1957, with the aim of welfare of weaker section of society. Accordingly the Nursing Institute for G.N.M. was aimed at so that students are trained to serve the humanity. Free dispensary, which is running with the Institute is also the next item for the health of the poor section of society.
Malwa College of Nursing - Kolkapura is constructed on its own land of 8 acres near the Railway Crossing at Faridkot Road, Kotkapura (Distt.Faridkot) Punjab (India).
Malwa College of Nursing - Kolkapura is situated at Bombay-Bathinda-Ferozepur National Highway. Kotkapura is a Railway Junction on Firozpur-Bathinda-Delhi-Bombay line from where one Railway line also goes to Muktsar-Fazilka. It is also approachable by the Ludhiana-Moga-Kotkapura-Muktsar-Abhoar National Highway. This College is ISO9001-2000 certified College.
Malwa College of Nursing - Kolkapura is running courses with rich clinical experience, a well stocked Library, Hostel accommodation and excellent messing arrangements, well equipped laboratories for nursing procedures & audio visual room and well maintained lawns.
Malwa College of Nursing - Kolkapura provides Post Graduate and Under Graduate Courses to the students. Course such as Bachelor of Science (Post Basic) - Nursing Studies, Bachelor of Science – Nursing, Master of Science – Nursing and PG Diploma Courses. His dream materialized when this Society established ‘Malwa College of Nursing, Kotkapura’ in September, 2000, with an intake of 40 students per year in three years Diploma Course of General Nursing & Midwifery (G.N.M). The intake capacity was increased from 40 to 60 in the year 2002.
To fulfill the long cherished dream of Late Dr Ravinder Singh the Society established the
Malwa College of Nursing - Kolkapura with an intake capacity of 40 students per year in four years degree course of Bachelor of Science in nursing (B.Sc. Nursing). This college is approved by Punjab Government, Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Mohali, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. The main target of the Society is to establish a charitable hospital at Kotkapura.
The role and dedication of late Dr Ravinder Singh will always be remembered with deep reverence. The Government of Punjab had granted ‘Essentiality Certificate’ in the year 2004, to start Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) programme at
Malwa College of Nursing - Kolkapura with an intake of 25 students. Accordingly, Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) programme was started from the academic session 2007-08. This programme is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi; Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh. The Society has also started another sister institute ‘Dr Ravinder Institute of Nursing, Bajakhana (Distt. Faridkot) to give training to G.N.M. students, with an intake of 40 students. Clinical training is given in Government Medical College, hospitals managed by Punjab Health Systems Corporation, Chandigarh and eminent private hospitals in the region.
