Ram Nirikshan Atma Ram College - RNAR College Samastipur was established in the year 1969 and is situated in Samastipur, the gateway of Mithilanchal, in the state of Bihar, India. The College is not a mere building - all concrete and iron, stone and bricks and mortar. It is much more than a material and physical reality; it was created by the devotion and zeal, the self-sacrifice and generosity of learned freedom fighter Late Pandit Ram Nirikshan Singh and later on by Late Pandit Atma Ram Mishra.
Ram Nirikshan Atma Ram College - RNAR College Samastipur was established with the aim of making higher education available to the students of this semi-urban area and thus equipping them for employment. Since its inception, the college has grown remarkably and through the various ramifications serving the cause of education in different ways. It has emerged as one of the premier co-educational institutions of the state of Bihar. The college compound is situated on 7 acres of land.

Ram Nirikshan Atma Ram College - RNAR College Samastipur offers two UG programs – B.A. and B.Sc. Both the degrees are offered as Honours. There are eleven departments in Arts (English, Hindi, Maithili, Sanskrit, Urdu, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science & Psychology) and five in Science (Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics & Zoology). In addition to these courses, the college also introduced three career oriented courses with the financial support of UGC. At present there are 25 permanent members in the teaching faculty. The administrative/technical staff consists of 36 members.

The physical facilities include a central library cum reading room, lecture rooms, well equipped laboratories in science departments as well as in geography department, computer facilities, sports' ground, toilet facilities, a canteen, a bank and cycle stand. In Ram Nirikshan Atma Ram College - RNAR College Samastipur library there are more than 20,000 books of different subjects. In addition the college subscribes eleven journals published by Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore. The College library has a reading room with broad band internet facility for teaching faculties and students.
The department of Sports Ram Nirikshan Atma Ram College - RNAR College Samastipur is very rich in extra curricular activities always provides indoor and outdoor games facilities for students. Annual sports are also organised for various events to encourage students and provide then Certificates. L.N.M.U. Inter College Tournaments are also organized by the sports department time to time. Recently Inter College Volley Ball Tournament was held from 22 December to 25 December 2010 and this college achieved runner cup. Three players of our college have been selected for National Volley Ball Tournaments 2011. Both Indoor and Outdoor stadium are under construcation from UGC scheme.
