SIM University – UniSIM Clementi is a private university in Singapore. Established in 2005, UniSIM is approved by Singapore's Ministry of Education (MOE) to award recognised Singapore degrees. The university is part of the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Group. Since July 2008, MOE subsidises tertiary education at UniSIM for eligible adult Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents as part of the national initiative to promote continuing education and training. SIM University – UniSIM Clementi is unique in Singapore. It is the country’s first and only privately-funded university focusing on the upgrading and learning needs of working professionals and adult learners. The University has a rich education legacy, having evolved out of the highly successful SIM Open University Centre. More than 6,000 have graduated since 1991.

SIM University – UniSIM Clementi announced a plan to expand its Clementi campus at a platform topping up ceremony on October 9 2009. The SIM Campus Development Master Plan, which will cost $300 million and be completed by 2014, will be implemented in two phases. It will give an additional 56,000 square meters of space, more than doubling the campus size.
With the incentive of a MOE subsidy of up to 40% for its students introduced in 2008, SIM University – UniSIM Clementi has seen a substantial jump in its enrolment. It now has more than 11,000 students, compared to 8,000 in 2007. This number is expected to grow to 14,000 by 2020. UniSIM caps its annual intake to only about half of applications received due to limited facilities. The new campus extension will allow UniSIM to meet demand for places which it is not able to meet at the moment. To support SIM University – UniSIM growth in student population, more staff will also be required and the new extension will allow UniSIM to house staff from its four academic schools within its own premises.

Located in the heart of the education district, the expansive campus sits on 52,000 square metres of prime land and houses more than 120 lecture theatres, tutorial rooms, seminar rooms and computer labs. Some classes may be held at designated external venues.

Tutorials/Seminars are a vital feature of the SIM University – UniSIM Clementi study system. Lasting an average of 2.5 or 3 hours and usually conducted in the evenings, the frequency of these sessions depends on the number of credit units per course. The sessions provide you with the opportunity to clarify issues and problems on course work and assignments with your tutor, as well as interact and learn with your fellow students. Besides acting as facilitators during formal contact hours, our associates also serve as academic counselors to guide you in the course of your study. Another unique mode of teaching/learning by SIM University – UniSIM Clementi is that some courses 'blend' classroom teaching with an e-learning component. Students are able to access learning materials via electronic means anytime, anywhere, without the hassle of rushing to attend classes in the evening. The 'e-sessions' complement the face-to-face learning experience.
SIM University – UniSIM Clementi has also embarked on 100% e-course where students complete the course without any face-to-face session (with discussion done if required).
