YMCA University of Science and Technology is known as YMCA Institute of Engineering, Faridabad was established in the year 1969, as a joint venture of the National Council Of YMCAs of India, Govt Of Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany. It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart technical education to a developing India on German pattern. The Institute has been granted autonomous status from year 2007. The institute is situated on national highway-2,Mathura Road,30 km from nation’s capital .The institute campus is located in the sprawling Faridabad-Ballabgarh Industrial complex.

The main strength of this institute is the concept of Workshops, other then the usual laboratories. Every student spent average 33% of total time in week in various Workshops and remaining 67% in Theory, Tutorials and Labs.
The Workshops are as following: Fitting Shop, Smithy Shop, Basic Electronics Workshop, General Electric Workshop, Machine Tool Workshop, Welding Sheet Metal Workshop, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Workshop, Electronics Instrumentation Workshop, Electronics Communication Workshop, Microprocessor Interfacing Workshop, Power Electronics Workshop, Process Control Workshop.
Library is a heart of YMCA University of Science and Technology. It is a modern library meant to help faculty, staff, and Students (i.e. B Tech, M Tech, MCA and Ph. D. students). Library is having good collection of books, print as well as online journals, magazines and CD ROMs. It is well equipped with modern technology like Internet. Its circulation is fully computerized through Bar Coded Library Card provided to its students, faculty and staff. The library is also member of INDEST Consortium and DELNET.
YMCA University of Science and Technology offers 4-year B.Tech. degree course in six disciplines i.e Information Technology, Computers, Electronics-Communication, Electronics-Instrumentation Control, Mechanical and Electrical. The Institute also offers Post Graduate courses viz. M.Tech. (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Computers/ Information Technology), Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Applications and Ph.D.
Right from the very beginning the institute has emphasized greatly on practical work related to industry. As a result our students are well accepted by the industries .The fact that many of them are enterpreneurs with names of the repute at national and international level establishes the same.
