Aditanar College of Arts and Science – Thoothukudi was established in the year 1965 by Sri. Si.Pa.Aditanar. The founder Sri.Si.Pa.Aditanar, a native of Kayamozhi Village, wanted to serve his place of birth. After establishing Daily Thanthi, a renowned Tamil newspaper, he formed a trust called “Aditanar Educational Institution“ (A.E.I). As the first project, he established Aditanar college of Arts and Science with the sole aim of providing higher educational opportunities for the youth of this area. His son,Padmashri Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan has been the President of the college committee since its inception. The mission of Aditanar College of Arts and Science – Thoothukudi is to provide quality higher education aimed at enhancing the required knowledge and skills and instilling the desired values in the minds of students enabling them to be enterprising and becoming worthy citizen of our country.

They are equipped with modern teaching aids & specially designed for comfortable seating contours for concentrated study. "A home away from home" is our hostel facility provided to girls. Daily commuting for many girls is difficult from far off places. A proper boarding and lodging facilities are being provided in our hostels.

The objective of the placement cell is Regular visits by our executive and representatives of the students in the industries, Pre-placement talks, Campus recruitment, Continued talks with different companies for the placement of all the students.
