He is a true Gandhian, an ideal educationalist and a Philanthropist. He is devoting his full time for the up liftment of backward classes in particular by promoting higher educational institutions.
Anand Institute of Higher Technology-AIHT was started in a rural area near Chennai city. It is one of the several professional institutions run by kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities with the background success of running professional institutions for more than 25years. Mission of Anand Institute of Higher Technology is to produce technically competent, socially committed technocrats and administrators through quality education and to carry out inter disciplinary research that would contribute to the global knowledge base.The Vision of the College is to be the centre of excellence in multi-disciplinary education and research.

This institution is approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. Anand Institute of Higher Technology is situated in the I T Corridor where I T Giants like Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Satyam, Wipro, Accenture, Polaris and many others are having their presence. AIHT is in the hub of the technological future of Tamil Nadu.
There is a fully air-conditioned central library in Anand Institute of Higher Technology-AIHT about 10000 sq.ft with a total collection more than 16,000 volumes in 4400 titles. Every year about 2000 volumes are added. The library has more than 100 national and international Print Journals and Magazines. The Library in view of latest development and future needs, the Institute has decided to build New Library Building with state-of-the-art facilities. The Digital information Center a unique facility with 5 computer systems facilitating access to large number of e-resources. The collection of the Central Library in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Humanities, Social Sciences, Management, Generally etc. is very strong. The collection comprises mainly with books, current journals, back volumes, theses, audio-video cassette, CD-ROMs etc. The collection is heavily used by the faculties and students. Sport not only shapes and strengthens the body, but also instills the spirit of perseverance, discipline and team work. Keeping this in mind the annual sports and cultural meet was conceptualized and held in the college campus in the first year of our college and it has been a success since then.
The students of Anand Institute of Higher Technology-AIHT have proved their mettle in all the competitions that they have taken part. A well located play ground of 4400 sq.ft with Basket Ball court, Volley Ball court, Badminton court, Kabbadi court and in door games like Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom are provided for the students. A well equipped Gym is established for the hostel students to develop the physical fitness of the boys and girls. The students are made to participate in various tournaments. One dispensary is functioning inside the college campus. One qualified lady Medical Officer is providing adequate medical services to the Students, Faculty and Staffs. One Bolero vehicle and one Van are made available for emergency purposes. The same medical officer, whose residence is very near to our Institution, is available for night services also.
