In this context, however, it is important that the students realize the symbolic nature of this relationship and accept the responsibility inherent in this joint venture. To this end, the college strives to maintain strict discipline. In the campus, Ragging, use of drugs, eve-teasing, physical assault / violence of any sort etc. are deemed as criminal offence and violation of these rules is dealt with severely. The Bhagalpur College of Engineering-BCE provides hostel facilities to almost all the students. There are three independent spacious hostels for Boys & two hostels for Girls in the college campus. The total capacity of hostel is 437 with all the basic amenities, including color TV, facilities for indoor and outdoor games. All hostels also have their separate mess facilities. The Bhagalpur College of Engineering-BCE Library acts as a central agency for meeting the information requirements of the academic community of the Institute and for collection, organization and dissemination of information. The college library is store house of the best available scientific and technical materials. Being the information centre of technology, the library has built up a balanced and rich collection on all branches of science and technology. At the same time, books of general interest in various subject fields are not neglected either. There is a Separate Book bank attached to the Library from which books are issued to the students for a year. The college library has a large reading room. It has a capacity to accommodate about 100 students at a time.
The Bhagalpur College of Engineering-BCE is the first Govt. College in Bihar to start this course. The department was established in 2001 with the hope to have the best talents with the best of skills. The department of C.S.E offers unique combination of courses and projects that help its students cope with the recent documents in the computer industry. The important courses offered are advanced microprocessors, Analog interface electronics, Data base management system, Software Engg.display and memory devices distributed computing and Information system design. The students acquire proficiency in many programming languages viz. BASIC, FORTRAN, C, C++, JAVA, PASCAL, LISP and PROLOG etc. under different operating environments of WINDOWS, LINUX, UNIX and LAN etc. Stress is given on subjects like Programming methodology, Compiler design, Automation theory, Artificial intelligence, Computer Architecture etc.
The department has signaled the advent of new era in B.C.E. and Bihar. The Training and Placement cell has begun leveraging on its networking efforts with
Bhagalpur College of Engineering-BCE alumni and it seeks to secure job offers for B.C.E. students apart from obtaining information on job openings in their organizations. We are clearly focused on our core activity of training and placement of students and I would be restless till the time we achieve 100% placements. The basic information available is experienced to be scanty with the advent of new technologies proposals construction of a three storied library building , information superhighway centre , bash , port office, shopping centre , 5 bedded hospital , gymnasium , swimming pool clubs building, open air theatre auditorium of 1500 capacity , two boys hostels of 150 capacity each , separate departmental buildings for electronics and communications and computer science and engineering departments 20 numbers of teachers and staff guests , raising of boundary walls etc. of total cost of Rs 15.6 crores has been proposed to govt. of Bihar.
