This college of Education named after Dr.Palpu,a great social reformer of kerala was established in 1995,under the corporate management of SNDP Yogam Colleges,Kollam.Dr Palpu Memorial SNDP Yogam College of Education - Thrissur imparts instruction for the M.Ed Degree Course and B.Ed.Degree course and the optional subjects offered for the B.Ed Degree Course are Mathematics,Physical science, Natural science,social science,Malayalam and English.The total intake of students is hundred and is affiliated to the University of Calicut.The Dr Palpu Memorial SNDP Yogam College of Education - Thrissur is situated in a calm and serene atmosphere,two kilometers south east of Kodungallur Town. From the inception of the college it strives to become a source of inspiration and enlightenment to the teacher education students.
The Dr Palpu Memorial SNDP Yogam College of Education - Thrissur has a spacious, well-equipped and growing library. The Library subcribes to different academic journals and periodicals of varied interest.The library will be opened from 9:30a.m to 4:30 p.m. on all working days.Only two books shall be borrowed by a student at atime and that can be retained only for a period of ten days.Reference books cannot be borrowed by the students.
For the exposition of hidden talents,students shall be grouped into four houses and all the students are expected to expose their talents.Every one week period is alloted for this purpose and this will help the students to develop self concept and confidence in them.A Guardian-Teacher Association is functioning from the beginning of this Dr Palpu Memorial SNDP Yogam College of Education - Thrissur.The general body of the association include the guardians of the students of the current academic year and all the members of the faculty.The executive committee shall be elected from the general body and shall be instrumental to the well functioning of the .Dr Palpu Memorial SNDP Yogam College of Education - Thrissur Community.There shall be an association of the students interested in science for developing creativity and interest in Science.Lectures,Seminars and Symposiums shall be conducted by the Science Club.This club shall be organised to improve the efficiency and skill of students in both Malayalam and English languages.
