Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri is one of the premiers Technical Institution in the country with an international repute. The Institute is situated at a distance of 143 Km. from Delhi on National Highway-I towards north. Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri was originally located at Rasool (West Punjab) as Govt. school of Engg. After partition, it was shifted to Chhachrauli (District Yamunanagar) and subsequently to Nilokheri in 1951. Nilokheri Polytechnic, Nilokheri established by the Govt. of India in 1947, was already in existence. Both these institutes kept running simultaneously till 1958 when these were merged on recommendation of Govt. of India and named as Punjab Polytechnic, Nilokheri with the reorgan0izing of the State on November 1,1966, Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri was renamed as Haryana Polytechnic, Nilokheri, it was again renamed as Govt. Polytechnic Nilokheri, and recently it is renamed as Guru BrahmaNand Ji Govt. Polytechnic Nilokheri.
In view of the rapid industrial growth, Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri have to redefine themselves and come with shoulder to shoulder status with shoulder to shoulder status with the industry. We must keep a tap with the industrial growth and a close interaction with the industry to developed status thereby assuming the role of instructor to the industry to develop human resources which is compatible to today's world of work from day one. Gone are the days of chalk and dust. We are not to teach the books to the students. We show technology and teach the books to the students.

This includes Independence Day, Republic Day Flag Hoisting functions. Paper Reading Contest, Blood Donation Camp, Declamation Contest, Engineering Material/Model Exhibition and conducting of class tests, short educational tours etc.
Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri provides library facility. The library is well classified and stocked with around fifty-five thousands volumes, 15 journals/magazines and all prominent newspapers are regularly subscribed to supplement the knowledge of the student. It has an approx. 1000 sq. mtrs. of built-up area comprising of a reading room with sitting capacity of 150. The library has a Book Bank, which provide all the students with textbooks for almost all the subjects for complete course duration. Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri has four numbers of Hostels separately for Boys & Girls for housing nearly 800 students, providing all modern amenities such as DG Sets, Television, Indoor Games etc. Sufficient numbers of residences including guesthouse are also available in the campus.
Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri provides laboratory facility. All the laboratories of Electronics Engineering Department have been modernized under this scheme. The improved labs facilities have substantially reduced the batch size per experiment thus giving better hands on experience to the students. New labs experiments have been introduced based on the latest equipments. Electronic equipments, computers and software amounting to approximately Rs. one crores, have been provided to the institute. Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri was also provided with grants towards development of infrastructure for improving lab facilities, library facilities, developing modern class room, establishment of maintenance cells etc.
Guru BrahmaNand Ji Government Polytechnic - Nilokheri has recently formed Alumni Association and feels proud of its alumni who have excelled in their area and are serving the nation while bringing glory to the Institute. Many of the Alumni have retired as chief Engineers; Directors of State/Central Govt. Department the first alumni meet will be held in the month of April 2007.However Golden Jubilee meet of passed out of 1956 batch was organized in Dec. 2006. One of our Alumni Mr. Satish Mehtani has bagged the Gold Plate Award for best Restaurateur in USA and he has contributed six scholarships @ 1000/- pm.
