Mumtaz Post Graduate College - Lucknow was upgraded to degree lev'el in 1974 by its parent body 'Anjuman Islahul Muslimeen, Lucknow' with a view to provide higher education especially to the members of Muslim minority, in line with the doctrines of Islamic faith. It was also the aim of the founding body to extend the facilities of higher education to the youth of other communities especially to Dalits and Backward classes.
Mumtaz Post Graduate College - Lucknow was initially imparting education of B.A. course and had the credit of securing good results, it was in 1999-2000 that the B.Sc classes were also started. The college has started B.Sc. course in 1999-2000 with well equipped laboratories and a rich library etc. and P.G. classes in Hindi and Sociology have also been started from the session 2003-2004. Mumtaz P.G. College (a minority institution) has achieved a distinction of one of the best colleges of Lucknow University, both in academic and extra curricular activities.
Mumtaz Post Graduate College - Lucknow is situated at Iradat Nagar, Daliganj Lucknow. Our boys and girls have been getting more and more first classes every year, bringing trophies and shields in extra-curricular activities like N.S.S, Games and Sports etc. Thus, Mumtaz Post Graduate College - Lucknow has never belied the hopes and aspirations of its founding fathers like Dr.Shujat Ali Sandilvi, Syed Mahmood Husain, Ashfaque Rizvi, Syed Mohammad Husain, Shariful Hasan, Maulana Hashim Mian, Haji Shafiqur Rahman Saheb and others. For all this, the past and present college management, teachers and non-teaching staff deserve congratulations. Our college discipline is also superb and it has been the talk of the town.
Mumtaz Post Graduate College - Lucknow library adequately equipped with books covering wide range of disciplines of academic and non-academic interest. Book bank facility is also available for poor and needy students. Students of the college are allowed to read newspapers, magazines and book in the reading room of the Library during their vacant periods. Photocopying facilities is also available in the Library for the students and teachers to get the required portion/pages from any book/ magazine etc. copied on a charge of Rs.2.00 per page.
