Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune was established in the month of June 1978. In the beginning, the college was known as A.B.M.S.P.'s Law College. However, in the year 1987, in the memory of our country's great visionary leader Late Shri Yashwantrao Chavan, who rose to the height of Deputy Prime Minister, the name of Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune was changed, as a mark of respect & honor towards him. The college has received the Accredition from N.A.A.C., Bangalore which granted Grade "B". Our college is recognized by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune has its own spacious building, which is constructed as per the norms laid down by U.G.C. and as per sanctioned plan of Pune Municipal Corporation. The three storied building was inaugurated on 20th February, 2005 at the august hands of Humble Shri. Sharadraoji Pawar in presence of Mr. Ajitdada Pawar. Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune endeavors to achieve a synthesis of the original aim & object cherished by our parent institution and the rapid changes taking place in the educational field.

Hostel accommodation for a limited number of students may be provided by Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune. Applications for the same, in the prescribed form are to be made to the principal at the time of admission to college. Hostel accommodation will be provided in the Jedhe - More Boys Hostel and Sharadabai Pawar Girls Hostel in the premises of Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune. A running track of 300 meters is provided on main ground and it is used for various races, practice and training. Similarly the main ground caters for the events and training of sports like shot put, discus throw, hurdles, javelin throw, long jump, high jump etc. Carom and chess are provided in Gymkhana room.
Over the years Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune has been active in sports besides academic achievements. Our college provides different facilities for the sports for over all development of the students. Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune enjoys fairly good infrastructure facilities for sports, which have been developed and thrived over years. There have been additions to and renovations of these facilities from time to time for outdoor games and also the traditional Indian games. We believe that sports and games develop healthy physique, self-confidence, dedications and team spirit. Considering all these benefits college encourages participation of students in various sports.
Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune has its own alumni association. The alumni association was inaugurated by Prof. Sureshchandra Bhosale, (Dean of the law faculty of the university of Pune and Chairman, bar council of Maharashtra and Goa and honorary member of the Board of studies in the University of Pune) on 28th June 2003. The inauguration ceremony received a very warm response. Alumni Association meets every Friday at 7.00 pm. The members assist Yashwantrao Chavan Law College - Pune in terms of social and legal work of the Legal Aid clinic of the college. Moreover they share their knowledge and practical experiences with the students.
