Yukon College - Whitehorse is a community college in the Canadian territory of Yukon. Its main campus is in Whitehorse, Yukon. The Yukon College - Whitehorse was founded in 1983, replacing the Yukon Vocational and Technical Training Centre, which had been in operation since the 1960s. The chancellor is Rolf Hougen (term renewed July 2010).

Yukon College - Whitehorse has 13 campuses located across the Yukon, providing access to post-secondary education territory-wide. Whitehorse hosts the main campus and the Yukon Correctional Centre. Eleven communities in the Yukon host campuses. See the map on this page for information on their exact location. Each campus offers a variety of academic and vocational programming, such as: Access programs, Career and job readiness, Part-time continuing education courses, Certificate, diploma and degree courses. Some of these programs and courses are offered in person, while others can be accessed remotely using video or Internet technology.
Yukon College - Whitehorse Library, located on the second level of the central block is your gateway to information resources and services. We hope that you take full advantage of the many services the Library has to offer, so come and visit us in person or feel free to access many of our services online. Yukon College - Whitehorse Library’s main collection consists of more than 38,000 volumes, as well as DVDs, videos, CDs, and CD-ROMs. Subject emphases include environmental studies, First Nations studies, northern studies and women’s studies. The reference collection houses encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, and other reference works. Items from the reference collection cannot be borrowed.
The library of Yukon College - Whitehorse also subscribes to about 400 periodicals in print, covering a variety of subject areas, not to mention many more online through the article databases. Individual issues may not be borrowed but can be photocopied following Access Copyright regulations. The library has 8 networked computers. Each computer provides users with access to a large selection of electronic resources, including the Internet. Due to the extremely high demand of these computers, no emailing or chatting is allowed. The library also has electronic access to a suite of licensed databases such as Academic Search Premier, PsycARTICLES, The Cochrane Library, and more. These databases can be accessed from any networked Yukon College - Whitehorse computer.
The First Nation Initiatives department (FNI) is an arm of the President’s Office within Yukon College - Whitehorse. It exists in order to focus on the partnerships with all Yukon First Nations in order to better serve Yukoners, with respect to programs and services offered at Yukon College - Whitehorse. FNI works with all departments at Yukon College - Whitehorse in order to encourage and support student success. FNI is a voice within Yukon College - Whitehorse that is dedicated to integrating an understanding and awareness of the culture, traditions, and history of Yukon First Nations. The development of programming and its associated curriculum is essential to development of education and training services that meet the needs of First Nations.
Yukon College - Whitehorse invites you to consider the use of the Ayamdigut Campus facilities in Whitehorse when planning your special event or conference. Depending on your requirements, we can generally accommodate smaller events up to 100 persons at any time through the year. However, the best time for larger events is the period between the last week of April to the end of August, or the College’s reading week (which normally coincides with the public school break in Whitehorse).
The Yukon College - Whitehorse is open year round. We have a large gymnasium for trade shows, exhibitions, plenary sessions or formal dinners. Our classrooms vary from smaller 12 seat classrooms, various “flexible space” places, to the 80 seat lecture hall. Our computer labs are equipped with current technology.
In addition our cafeteria is able to cater your event during the school year. The cafeteria dining area is a large, naturally lit space, with seating for up to 299 persons. Our bookstore carries convenience items as well as a collection of Yukon College - Whitehorse souvenirs to mark your northern experience. Yukon College - Whitehorse student residences are sometimes available during the May to August period for use by event participants.
