DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore is a unit of the Trust which was established in the year 1997 with Dr.Nalla G. Palaniswami, as the Chairman and Dr.Thavamani D. Palaniswami, as the Managing Trustee. The Institution is located in Kalappati Road near Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome about 2km from SITRA, falling at Dr.NGP Nagar. The extent of campus is 7.41 acres and the built up area is 18,078.78 square meter. The College has a sprawling campus, spacious classrooms, well equipped and modern laboratories, UG and PG Seminar Halls, Central Library, Department libraries and Administrative centers. A vast playground with all outdoor games and facilities for indoor games are also made available. At present there are 2923 students in the DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore. There are 200 Faculty Members and 20 technical staff. As such there is no vacancy in any department. The gender ratio of men and women among the employees works out to be 1: 2 and the teacher student ratio is 1: 13.
A number of scholarships are available for students. DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore students of the Scheduled caste can apply for the award of scholarships. Most backward classes can apply for the award of scholarship, Harijan Welfare scholarship and scholarship to the physically handicapped students. Apart from these things the management offers many scholarships. Ex-Servicemen children are also awarded free scholarship.

DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore has committed to provide Quality Education at par with the Global Standards by continually improving the infrastructure facilities and Students. The Quality Policy of NGPASC is deployed through the Department Objectives, which are defined in the QM/06. DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore is sufficiently equipped with 750 computers with adequate lab facilities. They are networked with high speed LAN, all original licensed software and broadband internal facility. Novell Netware Server, Windows 2003 server, Windows 2000 server, Windows NT, Linux server and UNIX server are the backbone of our Computer Lab. The fully air conditioned labs are helpful to the students to work beyond their college working hours. Many LCD and OHP projectors are used in the Computer lab for effective teaching.
DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore library rules are introduced to regularize the use of the library resources and will be reviewed periodically to meet the changing needs. The college boasts of 4 meeting halls to conduct guest lecturers / Seminars /Conferences /Symposium / Workshops to the varied audience. The capacity of the meeting halls ranges from 200 seats to 1000 seats.
The Separate Boys & Girls hostel with all necessary infrastructure & facilities is situated within the campus. Excellent Hostel facilities are provided for the DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore students coming from various parts of the world. The ambiance is so much of a home hence the hostel can be called a home away from home. Care is taken to provide nutritious and hygienic food to all. There is lot of variety in the Menu as the hostel caters to students from all over South India and abroad. The Hostel wardens pay good attention to every detail because they are present round the clock.The quality of food offered in our DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore is on par with the best Food courts in the city. It is highly hygienic and satisfies the taste buds of students from various states. There is an Indian Bank in our college premises which caters to all the financial needs of the staff and students. It also has an ATM which provides service for 24 hours. Excellent Transportation is one of the special features of our institution. We have a total of 10 buses running to all the parts of the Coimbatore city and its surroundings.
DR NGP Arts and Science College – Coimbatore offers 16 Undergraduate courses, 11 Postgraduates courses, M. Phil programmes (PT /FT) in 09 disciplines, and PhD programmes (PT / FT) in 02 disciplines, 04 PG Diploma courses , 02 diploma courses and 02 certificate courses. To offer qualitative education which will be helpful for all the students to have the employable skills the syllabus, the duration of the programmes and evaluation methods for the diploma courses and certificates are framed by the faculty concerned.

The Placement Office is committed to provide all possible assistance to its graduates in their efforts to find employment.
