Government College – Bahadurgarh was established as Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Evening College in 1967 in the building of a Government Higher Secondary School situated on Railway Road. But keeping in view the fast increasing need for Higher Education in the area, it was subsequently made a Day College with an Evening Shift in 1970. On 5th of October, 1981, the College was shifted to the present campus on Balaur Road. The College campus has a total land area of twenty two acres.
Government College – Bahadurgarh is situated at Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Haryana. A separate college wing for girls was supplemented with this college w.e.f. 13th of August, 2003 in the Old Civil Hospital Building situated in Quilla Mohalla to meet out the increasing number girl students. The Evening Shift has co-education and has a strength of 294 boys and 81 girls, total 375 students.
In the session 2007-08, the total strength of students is 2624 in the three streams – Humanities, Science and Commerce. Among our students 1331 are boys and 1292 are girls. The Distance Education Cell of the college has got 150 students in M.A. Hindi (Previous) and 135 students in M.A. Final.

Library adequately equipped with 25640 books covering wide range of disciplines of academic and non-academic interest. Sports occupy an important place in the curriculum of college. Government College – Bahadurgarh promotes sports activities and provide all facilities for Indoor and outdoor games. It provides a healthy environment in the canteen and makes sure that quality food is served at reasonable price. It helps the students refresh themselves with snacks in order to keep them always alive and active.

It aids students in exploring new opportunities and channeling their interests according to their aptitude. The cell conducts workshops on personality development and communication skills, psychological tests, group discussions etc. to enable students to assess their strengths and work on their weaknesses. Training programmes and guest lectures are also organized to further enhance their personality.
