The New Shastri Memorial College of Education-NSM College of Education started functioning at its Patta Bohri Campus in the year 1994-95. The College is being run by "N.S.M. Educational Society" registered with the competent authority under the Societies Act, with its registered office at Talab Tillo, Jammu.
Aims and Objectives of the New Shastri Memorial College of Education-NSM College of Education are To create awareness among all sections of the society so as to enable them to play their role as enlightened citizens of the State of J&K and the country as a whole,To undertake activities for educational, moral, cultural and social awakening of all sections of the society with a view to strengthen international brotherhood,To promote, revitalize and operate educational system on modern, scientific and technical lines,To promote the cause of education, learning, research and training of all weaker sections of the society.
The New Shastri Memorial College of Education-NSM College of Education library is well stocked and has a reading room attached with it where almost all important national/local newspapers and magazines are available. The students are expected to maintain proper discipline in the library.The sports committee comprising students and staff organize sports activities. The New Shastri Memorial College of Education-NSM College of Education has extensive facilities for games like volleyball, basketball and separate facilities are provided for indoor games such as, carom board, table tennis, chess etc. Ample opportunities are provided to students for improving standards and talents in games, sports and physique.The National Service Scheme (NSS) programme, under the auspices of University of Jammu, is being organized in the college to encourage the students to participate in socially useful and productive activities. The main object of this scheme is to inculcate in students a sense of social service to community, particularly to weaker and class trodden section of the society.
