Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur run by Shri Santaji Shikshan Vikas Sanstha, Nagpur was founded in June, 1971 and included in the list of University Grants Commission under 2F in Jan. 1977. Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur has been accredited and assessed by the National Assesment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore twice. The college has been awarded “B” Grade by the NAAC.
Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur is situated at Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Nagpur. At junior college level there are Arts, Commerce and Science streams. At senior college there are Arts, Commerce, Commerce (Computer Application) Science and Management streams. There are five undergraduate programmes, three Post Graduate programmes and a post graduate diploma course. The progress of Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur has been due to untiring efforts and guidance of the Ex-President Late Shri Govindraoji Wanjari. Over the years, Santaji Mahavidyalya has been growing from strength to strength by introduction of new courses, thoughtful expansion of the campus, having well qualified and experienced teaching faculty, timely enhancement and enrichment of the faculty and addition of newer instruments / equipments and facilities for the stakeholders under the youthful and able guidance of Hon. Shri Dinesh G. Wanjari, President, Shri Santaji Shikshan Vikas Sanstha.
Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur has a satisfactory academic record. The college excels in extension activities. There are three UGC approved Career Oriented Programmes to ensure employability of students. Add on courses are also run for the students. Co-curricular and extra curricular activities are conducted for overall development of the students. All the teachers and students actively participate and work hard to make the programs and activities successful.
The massive library at top floor of Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur main building is open to all students. A spacious Reading Room is attached to the library. The computer center in the main building provides generalized facilities on and off college hours and Internet browsing facility to all students and faculty. The computer center also provides technical support to all the departments. The laboratory houses 40 branded computers and latest software therein.
Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur has a full-fledged sports department with playground facilities for Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton and Table tennis etc. The college also has Well-Equipped modern games department for students. Besides the college has well equipped Gym. The college has installed a high power generator to tackle the problem of load shedding. No hindrance to work in the laboratories, Classrooms and administrative building is faced when there is no current.
In addition to regular theory and practical work, the students at Santaji Mahavidyalaya – Nagpur are also involved in various project-based assignments. There are regular guest lectures by faculty from various reputed institutions. Numerous academic events like seminars, Presentations, Software Exhibitions; technical Exhibitions and Educational visits are also organized over the year. The college also helps students to participate in academic and related events organized by other institutions.
