Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari has been established by A.C.P Educational Trust to cater the needs of then rural youth by providing them vocational and technical education. The objective of founders of this institution is to impart technical education, training and skills necessary to make qualified for better prospects and placement.
Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari was founded on 26.11.1997 at Sun Nagar, Erachakulam covering an area of 67.5 acres with the recognition of Govt.Tamil Nadu and approval of AICTE. The institution runs with the motto "Service-Upliftment-Nourishment" tomake the acronym of SUN.
Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari is fully qualified, competent and dedicated members are the staff of institution. The institution has well designed R.C.C buildings, well equipped Physics, Chemistry, English Communication, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Laboratories and Mechanical Workshop. We are proud of our very spacious Computer center, which is endowed with 66 nodes and servers. The entire lab is set up with a state of art, interior comfort and higher end configurations. Special coaching will be arranged for high scores and weak students separately. Interaction with industrial houses and factories is a special feature and this helps the wards to gain practical Knowledge and know how of things. Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari will provide the basics, necessary for career development, scope for higher technical studies and also orientation to the students for self-employment. Situated in sylvan surroundings the institution has peaceful atmosphere conductive to studies. Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls.

Central Library of Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari has a central library with spacious halls and exclusive reference section with quite number of volumes on all subjects whose total exceeds 27285 volumes. There are 79 National journals and 59 International Journals subscribed in our college Library. The library remains open from 9 AM to 8.PM. Our Library is completely computerized and measures are being taken to promote our Library to Digital Library.

Hostel facility of Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari is endorsed with a salubrious hostel both separately for men and women. The hostels are more spacious and has the capacity to accommodate 450 students in each hostel. The eye catching point in our hostel is that an environment is created that may menace the students a homely feeling with hygienic food and mother care. The hostel is located in the sylvan mountainous surrounding region that gives nourishment to the college hostel.
Transport facility of Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari can be easily accessible from different parts of the district and neighbourhood states connected by college buses. Our fleet contains 56 buses and a Luxury bus to enable the students to go for the Industrial visits and Educational tour. Places of operation of our college buses include Trivandrum, Nithravilai, Kappukad, Thengappatinam, Kulasekharam, Colachel, Kanyakumari, Vallioor, Chettilkulam, Thadikarrankonam, Mondaicaud, Arumanai etc.
Canteen facility of Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari has a student welfare block that contains a Canteen and a Health Club. The Canteen is famous for its neatness and hygienic food. The canteen operates from 7:00 AM to Night 7:00 PM. The Canteen provides all kinds of tasty dishes. The canteen has separate dining hall for VIP's, for staff members and girl students.
Placement Cell of Sun Institute of Technology – Kanyakumari have a full-fledged placement and training division and is headed by an Industry experienced Placement and Training Officer. The function of this Department is mainly to promote industry-institution interaction for the benefit of the students to carry out their in plant raining and to undertake project work as apart of their educational requirements.
