Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women - Chennai was started in a suburban area in Korattur during the academic year 1993-1994 by Bhaktavatsalam Memorial Trust with Dr. K.V. Kupusamy as the Chairman, Smt. Sarojini Varadappan as the Vicse Chairman, Smt. K. Padmavathy as the Trustee of the Trust. This year Mr. K. Senthil Ganesh has been included in the Trust as Managing Trustee. Within the shortspan of six years the student strength has increased to 1100.
With the sole aim of serving for the betterment of women through education Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women - Chennai imparts life oriented education with job avenues, which in turn will generate an enlightened women force full of ambitions and aspirations, rightly matched to the realities of life. Here the special focus is on the training of women as the center of the family with the ability to support in all spheres. No wonder this College is the first Women's College in India to offer B.Sc. Hotel and Catering Management, exclusively for women. College provides Bachelor Degree program to the college students.

At present 70 girls and 25 boys students are staying in the hostel and vegetarian mess is being run on dividing system and the present daily rate Rs. 25/- in addition to the lodging charge. Our management is very interested in promoting the hostel facilities. Free food and Accommodation in the hostel is provided to some poor students.
Facilities for indoor and outdoor games are available in Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women - Chennai.
