Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya – Pune belongs to Shri Shivaji Maratha Society Pune.It is important to give historical background of the society. It was established in 1918. Honorable Rajarshi Shahu Maharaja took lead in this respect. There was a Maratha Social Club in Pune. Ravbahaddur P.C. Patil, Shri Laxmanranrao Thosar, Shri Baburao Jedhe, Shri Baburao Jagtap, Shri R. B. Thube, Shri Ganpatrao Shinde, Shri Vitthalrao Zende, were the members of the Club.
From their discussion it was decided to establish an educational institution in Pune.
Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya – Pune was the need of the time to start an educational institution for common people in Pune. Especially socially backward people. Pune being a famous city for education, at national as well as inter-national level, it was decided to establish an educational institution in Pune city. It was also decided to name it after the great Maratha warrior king Shri Shivaji Maharaja. Hence Shri Shivaji Maratha Society came into being.
Aim of Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya – Pune is to install a big horse-ridden statue of Shri Shivaji Maharaj To establish an educational institution to avail educational opportunity for the boys and girls from Maratha community. To create integrity, love and fraternity among Maratha community,& try. to uplift the people of Maratha community who are lagging behind.To create among them interest for creating new literature, through libraries, lectures, discussions, symposiums etc. Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya – Pune aim encourage Maratha community to join army. To uplift Maratha community through various ways was the main objective behind establishing this esteem society. After establishing the society, all the volunteers of the society moved all over Maharashtra to propogate the institute. The rich community, common people and many members of princely society helped this society.
Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya – Pune library is a beautiful and modern library well updated books, journals & multimedia learning aids, provides the student and opportunities to keep themselves well versed with related information. A library well stocked with all the necessary volumes is available at the student's disposal. It is the synthesis of theories with working knowledge, together avenues to exploit all the available resources; we can mould our students into thorough professionals, who would become the leaders of their profession.
