MET Arts and Science College – Calicut started as an unaided self financing college under the management of Muslim Educational Trust as per Govt Order (MS)No.125/2002/H.Edn dated 18.09.2002 with BCA, B.Sc. Microbiology, B.Sc. Chemistry and B.Com. with Computer Application. The college was inaugurated on 10th October 2002. The College was upgraded as a Post Graduate College, starting M.Sc. Chemistry in 2005-06. B.Sc. (IT) has also been sanctioned to this College in the academic year 2008-09. B.Sc. Physics and B.A. English are also offered since June 2010.
The campus of MET Arts and Science College – Calicut is located in Palamchola hill (MET Hill) in the small but beautiful town of Nadapuram. The college is spread over 15 Acres with an attractive landscape in that serene atmosphere. This place ensures a safe and friendly place for the aspiring students. Under MET Arts and Science College – Calicut we strive to impart high quality formal education with an in-depth industrial outlook by assimilating all state-of-the-art-technology, quality faculty and new method of imparting education through personalized touch. MET Arts and Science College – Calicut provides all advantages to the students. With an enrollment of over 300 students in four different disciplines, they benefit from more individualized attention in classroom. The college has provided with all required facilities for their development and excellence.
The library plays a central role in helping college achieve its mission of providing students a quality education. Beyond its immediate responsibility to provide the information services and resources that support the courses of study offered at the college, the library has the broader mission of fostering in our students the importance and necessity of lifelong learning MET Arts and Science College – Calicut library adequately equipped with books covering wide range of disciplines of academic and non-academic interest. The college also subscribes for international and national journals, periodicals and newspapers for the students and faculty members at the college library. There is a computer Laboratory equipped with 60 computers with Internet Service, Printers and Scanners.
The Physical Education Department conducts coaching and training programmes in Volley Ball, Kabbadi, Foot Ball, Cricket, Kalarippayatu, Judo, Badminton, Athletics etc. The Physical Education Dept. conducts annual sports meet and tournaments. MET Arts and Science College – Calicut sports team also participates in university zonal competitions. Mr.PK Vijayan is the Director of Physical Education.
