Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya – Kolkata a co-educational day College, was founded in Monirampore, under Barrackpore Sub-division of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, by Late Swami Jyotirmoyananda Giri Maharaj, in the sacred memory of his preceptor Late Swami Mahadevananda Giri Maharaj, on the auspicious day of Janmashtami, and the Independence Day, the 15th of August, 1968. The 15th of August being a holiday, the 16th of August has been officially declared as the Foundation Day of the College. The College is developing the museum by adding a small library on Rashtraguru. The College has an Alumni Association. A separate room for Alumni Association has been provided by the College. The Alumni Association has applied for registration. Snacks and tea are available in the cheap canteen at reduced rates.
Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya – Kolkata provides specific spaces for displaying wall magazines published by the College and different departments. Students are encouraged to contribute to their departmental wall magazines. The Grievance Redressal Cell, as functioning in the College, is meant for addressing the grievances formally lodged by the students and the guardians. The said G.R. Cell has been formed selecting members from among the teaching, non-teaching staff and students. The Cell includes two lady teachers. There are separate common rooms for boys and girls. The girls' common room has a lady attendant and a separate toilet attached to it. The common rooms remain open during College hours. There are arrangements for indoor games.
