Ramjas College was established in 1917 by the great educationist and philanthropist, Rai Kedar Nath.
Ramjas College is one of the oldest colleges of Delhi. Beginning from the humble grounds of Darya Ganj in Old Delhi, the College today boasts of a spacious campus, state-of-the-art infrastructure and an esteemed faculty of scholars trained at leading universities in India and abroad.
Ramjas College believes in holistic education that goes beyond achieving academic excellence, and vocational training. Their philosophy is to realize the overall intellectual, creative, cultural and socio-political growth and development of both the students and the college community in its entirety.
Ramjas College offers a wide range of courses, extra-curricular activities and technologically advanced facilities are accessible to the faculty, students as well as the support staff. In 1954,
Ramjas College shifted to the Delhi University Campus and the Hostel was built in the same year. The Hostel has two distinct and separate sections that are divided into various blocks. Two blocks on the first floor have been developed exclusively for women. The remaining four blocks have been retained for occupation by male students. All community areas like dining, common room, washrooms, lobby, terrace/lawns, etc. are separate for men and women. The hostel has an accommodation for two hundred students. The Hostel provides accommodation during the operative session; i.e. from 18 July to 30 April of every academic year.
Ramjas College offers different UG, PG, Short-term, Language courses. The College always strives to create an environment in which each individual is encouraged to step beyond the confines of the academic and administrative disciplines to explore newer vistas. The Placement Cell of the college was conceptualized and initiated after taking into consideration the desire of the students to utilize the education and vocational training that they received within the campus in the business environment.
It has always been an attempt on the part of the cell to remain proactive towards the vocational need of the students. To keep an update of the same, all the students are made to fulfill a customized database form at the beginning of the session. After a proper analysis of the same, companies from various fields like Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Entertainment, Media, Business & Knowledge Processing organizations are invited to recruit the students.
Career talks and interaction with leading personalities of diverse fields are also organized to expose the students to various available opportunities and thereby helping them to choose the right career path. Leading companies like Ernst & Young, PT Education, News 24 and NDTV (Metro Nation) have appointed their campus ambassadors within the college so that they can work along with the cell. The placement cell also brought prestigious companies like Google, Moolchand Hospital, Wipro, Dell and many more to the campus for tapping the available talent.
