Practicals like DNA isolation, purification, construction of recombinant molecules, transformation, cloning, gene isolation, PCR amplification, identification and expression are regularly conducted in the biotechnology laboratories. The Computer lab Computer Centreoffers computational facilities to fulfil the curricular needs of students. The Lab is equipped with high end Computers. The number of computers is in a 1:1 ratio. Students work under networked environment.The lab is enriched in all the software and operating systems.
Shaheed Udham Singh College of Research and Technology - Mohali has a well stocked library which caters to the need of the undergraduate and post graduate students, research scholars and the faculty. The library is divided into two parts, a library reading area on one side and stock cum reference section on the other side. Shaheed Udham Singh College of Research and Technology - Mohali library has a good collection of books and journals in areas pertaining to Biotechnology and Microbiology. Services such as lending of books and journals, reading room, reprographic facilities and bibliographic reference and information are rendered by the library. The books are issued to the students on production of their library cards and the identity card as per the library rules. In addition, reference facility is also available throughout the day. College offers postgraduate programmes in M.Sc. Biotechnology & Microbiology and under graduate programmes in B. Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology, Human Genetics and Industrial Microbiology.
