Madhubala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media – MBICEM New Delhi was set up in 1996 in the National Capital Territory of Delhi; MBICEM is an initiative in response to the growing demand for trained Media Professionals. In 1999 when the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) came into being with a focus on facilitating Professional Studies, MBICEM decided to get itself affiliated with this University for it realised that its dream of fulfilling the void existing between the industry's demand for Trained Media Professionals and their supply can be suitably bridged only by conducting a three year's programme leading to a degree in Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication.
The Madhubala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media – MBICEM New Delhi Library has approximately 42153 books. The number of journals and periodicals subscribed by the Library is 23. The Library functions from 9 am to 4 pm on all working days except on Sundays and holidays. The college does not provide reprography & Internet facilities to the students. There is an advisory committee for the library that supervises the various activities of library. The sports ground of the Madhubala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media – MBICEM New Delhi provides facilities for many games viz. Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis, Carom and Athletics. The college teams have been winning consistently the University Championship in Kho-Kho only.
The Madhubala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media – MBICEM New Delhi department of Computer Science has a separate Computer Centre with 5 computer systems. It works from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The main objective of this Computer Centre is to increase computer literacy among the students. The Computer Department of the College has a computer laboratory with 68 computers including a central server and other peripherals like printers, scanners, etc. The Madhubala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media – MBICEM New Delhi has a laboratory attendant and a laboratory instructor for the maintenance of computers in the computer science department. The College provides health and medical services through qualified doctor who is available on call. College offer Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication course to students.

It helps them in preparing their resumes as per the changing industry requirements and trains them fully for their personality interviews.
