Seeing the plight of hundreds of students who’ve to move to far flung areas to do the B.Ed. Course, Ma Saraswati Shiksha Samiti, a premier charitable education society, has come up with a new B.Ed college, which is Gayatri College of Education. The Institution is located at village kharota, P.O. Kangoo, Tehsil Sundernagar, Distt. Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. In terms of literacy rate, it stands second. Despite ample facilities for basic education, the state still lacks in the field of Secondary Teacher Education (B.Ed.) considering the total population of the state and hence the need of B.Ed. colleges.
Gayatri College of Education provides a mature environment where sound works ethics; self discipline and acquisition of independent learning skills are fostered. Staff is deeply committed to the academic progress and welfare of students and encouraged to interact closely with their teachers and seek help at any time.
It is an honor and pleasure for me to work as Additional Director of Gayatri College of Education. Gayatri College of Education has a well-equipped library with books, audio and video collections on various subjects. All major national and local newspapers in Hindi and English are subscribed. It also subscribes to important national and international professional journals.Film and video shows, discussions and book review sessions are arranged by the library regularly. The library invites experts to speak on current topics and to share their professional experiences.
Gayatri College of Education has a state-of-art computer laboratory. E-Mail, Internet, LAN and multimedia facilities are provided in the computer lab. Trained professionals for guidance and tutorials support this laboratory.

College is providing B.Ed course w.e.f. year 2006. College is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla, so the course of study for B.Ed is according to rules and regulations of NCTE as well as Himachal Pradesh University. The college also offers Bachelors of Computer Application and Post Graduate Diploma In Computer Application.
