Jesus and Mary College - JMC Delhi was founded in 1968 and is run by the sisters of Jesus & Mary Congregation that originated in France.
Jesus and Mary College is only for women and its main aim has been to make God known to young and the destitute. The college lays stress on all round development of the students and seeks to make them successful in both their professional and personal life by giving a healthy academic environment. The college also offers programs for B.A. pass courses along with a four year professional degree program called Bachelor of Elementary Education which allows students to teach at the elementary level. The college also offers courses for those women who are unable to join a regular course due to some external constraints. Admission to under graduate programs depends on the percentage of marks obtained by a student in 10+2 or its equivalent with the cut-offs for last year being well in excess of 90% for most courses. The English department of the college conducts an entrance test for admission to the B.A. Honors English courses. The college also reserves some seats for students in the sports quota.
